KubeCon Recap (Part 0)
So, KubeCon was last week. I don’t have a blog post written for this week, because I’m exhausted, but I did want to share video from my two talks.
Karpenter and Cluster Autoscaler: A Data-driven Comparison
This is the talk version of my SimKube blog series analysis. I presented with Michael McCune from RedHat, and despite some A/V hiccups I was pretty proud of the results!
(I’m not sure if the embed saves the timestamp or not, but our portion starts at 4:07, approximately)
What if Kubernetes was a Compiler Target?
My other talk was on a side project that I’ve been doing with Tim Goodwin at UCSC, where we presented a proof-of-concept for compiling un-altered Go code directly into Kubernetes “binaries”. This is similar in nature to Google’s Service Weaver, which I live-blogged about last year.
You can find the slides for this talk here, and the source code for the demo is on GitHub.
Next up… KubeCon
I’ll be back next week with my regularly scheduled blog posts and such; we’ll be spending a bunch of time on KubeCon content! Subscribe if you want:
